Yankeetown Florida |
The Inglis/Yankeetown
area of southern Levy County is one of the last waterfront gems of
Central Florida and is strongly reminiscent of Florida as it was many
years ago. Located in the Big Bend section of the Gulf Coast, Levy
County is large in area (705,208 acres) yet sparsely populated. (Under
35,000 people) The Withlacoochee River, an outstanding Florida
Waterway, forms the southern boundary and is the dividing line between
Citrus and Levy Counties. |
|
The combined
population of both towns is approximately 2200 people, and is not
influenced by the tourist season. The climate here is temperate with
the average winter temperature about 65 degrees and average summer
temps around 85 degrees. Approximately 50” of rainfall per year keeps
our foliage lush and green. |
